🔸An article titled “Throat-singing across continents” has been published in the spring issue of “Diplomat” International Canada magazine. The article highlights the participation of N.Ashit, the solo throat singer (khuumii performer) and a morin khuur musician of the Morin Khuur Ensemble of Mongolia, in the 40th anniversary celebrations of Nunavut Sivuniksavut, an Inuit cultural college in Ottawa.

🔸The article writes about the joint performance of Mr. N.Ashit and Inuit singers Charlotte Qamaniq and Bernice Niakrok at the anniversary’s gala concert and his presentation on Mongolian throat singing “khuumii” to Inuit students, along with introducing readers to both Mongolian and Inuit throat singing.

🔸N.Ashit visited Canada at the invitation of the Embassy in October 2025 to participate in a series of throat singing events including the concert “Melody of Khuur, Tune of Khuumii” in Ottawa, Toronto (Richmond Hill) and Alexandria together with artist G.Tungalag.

🔸The article in “Diplomat” also cites Ambassador E. Sarantogos: “Bound by a reverence for nature and guided by common values, Mongolia and Canada recognize the importance of nurturing people-to-people ties in deepening mutual understanding”.

🔸We extend our sincere appreciation to the “Diplomat” magazine team and Ulle Baum for their support in promoting Mongolian culture and arts, history and traditions to the Canadian government and the public, and wish them every success in their work.
