CHILDREN OF THE MONGOLIAN SCHOOL IN OTTAWA TAKE A FIELD TRIP TO “GROOVY YURTS”

📕In celebration of Children’s Day, the Embassy of Mongolia in Canada, together with Yves Ballenegger, Cultural Envoy of Mongolia in Canada, and the Mongolian school in Ottawa, organized a field trip to the “Groovy Yurts” farm in Alexandria on May 16, 2026. The theme of the field trip was Mongolian culture, traditions, customs, and nomadic lifestyle.

📘Cultural Envoy of Mongolia and Director of “Groovy Yurts,” Yves Ballenegger, assembled a traditional Mongolian ger together with the children and spoke with them about Mongolian gers, nomadic culture, and traditional values. Teachers J.Dagiijanchiv and B.Enkhtungalag organized a quiz competition “My Mongolia” among the children. Students E. Narandulam and E. Naranlkham won first places and received certificates of recognition.

📗The field trip was initiated by the Embassy under the “World Mongolians” program implemented by the Government of Mongolia. Its purpose was to promote the Mongolian language and cultural heritage, and to support the knowledge of Mongolian language, culture, and traditions among Mongolian children living in Canada. Students of the Mongolian school in Ottawa, their parents, teachers, and embassy staff, participated in the event.
