NATIONAL FLAG OF MONGOLIA RAISED IN OTTAWA
A ceremony of raising the national flag of Mongolia on the occasion of the 2233rd anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolian Statehood, the 818th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire, the 113th anniversary of the Restoration of National Freedom and Independence and the 103rd anniversary of the People’s Revolution of Mongolia was organized by the Embassy of Mongolia in Canada and the City of Ottawa on July 11, 2024.
H.E. Mrs. E.Sarantogos, Ambassador of Mongolia, Mr. Mark Sutcliffe, Mayor of Ottawa and Ms. Joya Donelly, Director General, North and East Asia, Global Affairs Canada, delivered remarks at the ceremony and emphasized that the Mongolia-Canada relations are expanding and developing at the level of a Comprehensive Partnership, based on the similarities, shared values and mutual trust between the two nations.
The Flag-Raising Ceremony was attended by Member of the House of Commons of Canada Mr. Yves Perron, representatives of the North East Asia Department, GAC, a former Ambassador of Canada to Mongolia H.E. Mr. Gregory Goldhawk and Honorary Consul of Mongolia in Quebec Mr. Paul Lemay. Also, Ambassadors and diplomats from Japan, Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, Russia, Italy, France, Hungary, Greece, Cuba, Chile, Argentina, Jordan, Columbia, Paraguay, Algeria, Tunisia, Jamaica and Iraq as well as representatives of the Mongolian nationals living in Canada were present to pay respect to the National Flag of Mongolia.
