Passport and visa are required to travel to Mongolia. Before applying for visa, please check your visa requirement status entering to Mongolia.

•  If you are Canadian citizen or passport holder 

Canadian citizens who wish to enter or stay in Mongolia for up to 30 days on official, private business or tourism are exempted from visa requirements under the new visa policy regulation effective January 1, 2014.

For staying in Mongolia for more than 30 days or obtaining double entry, multiple entry visas for work/study and business/private, it is required to have an APPROVAL from the Immigration Agency of Mongolia. You can have an APPROVAL with assistance of your partners or supporters there in Mongolia. After reviewing his/her request for the appropriate visa, the Immigration Authority informs the Embassy accordingly.

NOTE: Without approval from the Immigration Office, the Embassy cannot issue any double entry, multiple entry visas for work/study and business/private visa if his/her intended travel is more than 30 days.

GENERAL VISA INFORMATION
For applying visa for 30 days or less it is required to submit by mail or in person following documentation:

1. Passport with a validity date at least six months beyond the end of the applicant’s intended period of stay in Mongolia,

2. Visa Application Form with one photo /passport size/

3. Copy of flight itinerary,

4. Visa processing fees:

Single entry visa –                                                             65 CAD;
Double entry visa –                                                            85 CAD;
Single transit visa –                                                           35 CAD;
Double transit visa –                                                          65 CAD;
Multiple transit visa –                                                         100 CAD;
Multiple entry visa with a validity term of 6 months –        137 CAD;
Multiple entry visa with a validity term of one year –         267 CAD; 

Fees must be paid by transferring via Embassy’s official INTERAC E-Transfer address at [email protected]

NOTE: Applicant must include his/her full name and contact phone number in the “message” section of the INTERAC E-Transfer process.

5. Prepaid, self-addressed return envelope /NOT Purolator Express/ should be included with the materials when getting a visa through the mail (A certified mail with tracking number is recommended for safety reasons)

IMPORTANT:

- For staying in Mongolia for more than 30 days or obtaining double entry, multiple entry visas for work/study and business/private, it is required to have an APPROVAL from the Immigration Agency of Mongolia. - Visa processing normally takes 3 business days upon submission or receipt of an application accompanied by all necessary documents.

- Visa is valid for entry within 150 days upon the issuance (Date of Issue) and its duration (Duration of Stay) counts from the date of entrance.

- A foreign national staying more than 30 days in Mongolia must register with the Office of Immigration, Naturalization and Foreign Citizens or its local branches within 7 business days of arriving in Mongolia. For more information, please visit the website of the Office: www.immigration.gov.mn
