MEETING WITH CANADIAN SENATOR THE HONOURABLE BERNADETTE CLEMENT

September 11, 2024, Ambassador E.Sarantogos met with the Honourable Bernadette Clement, a Senator of Canada, and exchanged views on developing Mongolia-Canada relations and cooperation, including intensification of the parliamentary relations between the two countries. They also openly discussed a wide range of topics such as strengthening women’s leadership in politics, mining, business and all fields of the society as well ensuring democratic values, human rights and freedom, including social diversity.

The Honourable Senator Clement became the first woman to be elected as the mayor of Cornwall, Ontario, in 2018 and was appointed to the Canadian Senate in 2021. She visited Mongolia in 2022 accompanying the Honourable Senate Speaker George Fury and is currently a member of the Canada-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group.
