AMBASSADOR VISITS ALGONQUIN COLLEGE
Ambassador E.Sarantogos visited Algonquin College on 13 September and met with President Brulé, Associate Vice-President Patrick Devey and representatives in charge of global learning and international education.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged information and views on cooperation opportunities by establishing partnerships with similar Mongolian institutions, implementing 2+2 joint programs, and facilitating student exchanges. Ambassador Sarantogos also visited the Green Supply Chain Lab dedicated to reducing carbon emissions and clean energy solutions, and the Algonquin Center for Construction Excellence.
Founded in 1967, Algonquin College is the 7th largest college in Canada. It offers technical and vocational education in more than 300 programs of study, including construction, social health and safety, nursing, technology, and media. The college is a member of Colleges and Institutes Canada (CiCAN) and Polytechnics Canada. It has 3 campuses in Ottawa, Perth, and Pembroke, and offers online programs.
Currently, there are 22,000 full-time students, of which 8,000 are international students from over 90 countries. In recent years, 6 Mongolian students have graduated from Algonquin College, and one student is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree.
Algonquin College offers practical, hands-on undergraduate degree and post-graduate certificate and diploma programs with about 90% of graduates finding employment.
