MEETING WITH HONORARY CONSULS

On 30 January 2025, Ambassador E. Sarantogos held a virtual meeting with the Honorary Consuls of Mongolia accredited in Canada. During the meeting, the Ambassador introduced the objectives, priority areas and activities aimed at furthering Mongolia–Canada relations.

Mr. Peter Wallis, Honorary Consul of Mongolia in Alberta, noted that he has been working to promote provincial cooperation between the two countries, including the cooperation between Umnugovi province and the province of Alberta, as well as promotion in the fields of business, culture, and education.

Mr. Paul Lemay, Honorary Consul of Mongolia in Quebec, informed that he is working to provide support for member organizations of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry to participate in the “Sial Canada” agri-food trade exhibition to be held in Montreal from 29 April to 1 May 2026, as well as facilitating the business-to-business of B2B meetings.

On 27 February 2026, a meeting was held with Mr. Bryon Wilfert, Honorary Consul of Mongolia in Ontario, during which the Ambassador discussed furthering cooperation with the Province of Ontario, with particular emphasis on enhancing trade and economic relations and broadening cultural exchanges.

Ambassador E. Sarantogos emphasized that particular attention would be given in 2026 to the economic, business, agricultural, and education sectors, and expressed appreciation for the support of the Honorary Consuls in protecting the rights and interests of Mongolian citizens. The meeting concluded with an agreement to jointly develop plans for 2026.
